Although the College of Alameda doesn’t offer a phlebotomy program, it provides nursing assistance, covering many phlebotomy-related topics.
The College of Alameda is part of five colleges in the area, so it’s easy to transfer.
In addition, the College of Alameda costs around $2,500 per year instead of a private institution, which can cost up to $25,000 per year.
Finally, the medical assisting program requires a time commitment of one year, with a certificate being awarded at the end.

DeVry University is well-known across the United States for offering numerous programs at various levels.
With classes starting every week and the ability to take the one-year program partially online and in a lab, students are well-prepared to enter the medical field upon graduation.

Although DeVry doesn’t have a specific phlebotomy program, it features a Clinical Laboratory Science bachelor’s degree, which is a four-year program.

Formerly John F. Kennedy University, National University is located in Oakland suburbs.
The medical technician program takes approximately one year to complete and qualifies graduates to perform phlebotomy tasks.

About
Located within Oakland city limits, Oakland University is a tremendous clinical, academic, and collaborative learning environment.
The school has a student body of over 2,000 at various educational levels and focuses on the foundational model of the behavioral and natural sciences.
In addition, Oakland University offers a phlebotomy certificate, a two-part program consisting of 10 weeks of classroom lectures in technical skills and theory, and two weeks of a full-time externship.
Courses
The phlebotomy certificate program curriculum consists of how to draw blood, anatomy, physiology, proper specimen collection, storage and transportation, and medical terminology.
