The training program must also have received accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation of Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE).

Becoming a Physical Therapist Assistant in Arkansas

After you get your degree, you can apply for a certification from the Arkansas State Board of Physical Therapy.

In order to get licensed, you will also need to take and pass 2 exams:

  • The National Physical Therapy Examination for PTAs
  • The Arkansas Jurisprudence Examination

The application should be mailed to the Board and should include:

  • Your schooling experience
  • Work history information
  • Schedule the National Physical Therapy Examination (NPTE) for PTAs
  • Passport sized picture
  • The $50 application fee
  • Copy of your school transcripts

The first exam you will need to take is the National Physical Therapy Examination (NPTE).

This exam is provided by the Federation of State Boards of Physical Therapy (FSBPT).

You will need to become a member of the Federation of State Boards of Physical Therapy (FSBPT).

You will also need to pay a fee of $400.

Candidates have to get acquainted with the Practice Act and the Rules and Regulations in the state.

Then, you can take the Arkansas jurisprudence exam.
