Sacramento Area Training Electrical offers a variety of electrician training programs in the Sacramento area. Options, including the area’s Joint Apprenticeship Training Committee’s (JATC) programs, training, resources, and continuing education, are available for apprentices and journeymen.
Training programs are tuition-free, although students pay for their training materials.

Sacramento City College (SCC) offers an Associate of Science degree in Mechanical-Electrical Technology that requires the completion of 60 credit units over approximately two years.
Sample classes for this electrician training program include the fundamentals of instruments and electricity, electrical controls, power machinery, automatic control systems, instrumentation and piping, and electrical & sheet metal drafting, to name a few.

The American River College (ARC) - Natomas Center
ARC Natomas Center’s Workforce Development Division offers an Associate of Arts degree in Electrical Apprenticeship program that requires degree candidates to successfully complete 60 credit units – including the required hours for the state’s on-the-job training requirements.
