Richmond Electricians’ JATC offers a variety of electrician training programs to aspiring electricians in and around the greater Richmond area.
This trade school offers an Associate of Science degree program (AS) in Electrical Construction technology that can be completed entirely online.
The school also offers an inside wireman apprentice program as well as a journeyman training option.

2 The Central Virginia Electrical Contractors Association
The Central Virginia Electrical Contractors Association was founded in 1962 by a group of electrical contractors.
The CVECA’s apprenticeship program, which began in 1974, requires 168 classroom hours and on-the-job training over four years in preparation for passing Virginia’s electrician’s licensing exam.
This electrician training program works in partnership with nationally recognized programs.

3 Brightpoint Community College
Brightpoint Community College offers several on-campus and hybrid electrical training program options in the Richmond area.
In addition to the college’s Associate of Applied Science degree program (AAS) or Associate of Science degree program (AS) in Electrical Engineering Technology, Brightpoint Community College offers certificate programs in electricity, residential electricity, or industrial electricity.
All of these Brightpoint training programs prepare students for entry-level electrician jobs in manufacturing, construction, architecture, and more.
Not that the AS degree from Brightpoint is viewed as a transfer program allowing students to move to a four-year school with earned credits.
